Netball
Netball is one of Roosevelt’s major winter sports for girls.
The girls are able to begin netball from Grade 1. In Grade 1 and 2 they practise once a week. In these practices, the girls concentrate on the basic netball rules and ball skills with the emphasis on enjoyment. From U9, the girls are exposed to match situations.
The older girls practice once a week and have a match once a week. At their practice, these girls hone their netball skills and match strategies.
Each age group has two teams that play league matches throughout the season with other schools nearby. For those girls who do not make these teams, we have two social sides that play friendly matches.
